Thanks to the invitation from the Office of International Affairs of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (PUJ), Professor Francisco Palencia Sánchez was invited as a speaker at the SACRU Autumn School 2025, where he presented the lecture “The Freedom of Scientific Research.”

During his presentation, he addressed the importance of freedom in scientific research and reflected on how political, economic, and ethical contexts influence the production of knowledge. His participation reaffirmed Javeriana University’s commitment to critical dialogue and to the training of researchers dedicated to ethical and socially responsible science.

“It was a valuable opportunity to represent the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in an international space where issues that directly affect research work are discussed,” highlighted Professor Palencia.

As part of his internationalization efforts on behalf of the Department of Preventive Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine and PUJ, Professor Palencia also invited readers to learn about the article he co-authored with colleagues with whom he developed a COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) project, available at the following link:

Profesor Francisco Palencia Sánchez participó como invitado en la SACRU Autumn School 2025 

Gracias a la invitación de la Dirección de Asuntos Internacionales de la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (PUJ), el profesor Francisco Palencia Sánchez fue ponente invitado en la SACRU Autumn School 2025, donde presentó la charla “The Freedom of Scientific Research.”

Durante su intervención, abordó la importancia de la libertad en la investigación científica y reflexionó sobre cómo los contextos políticos, económicos y éticos influyen en la producción del conocimiento. Su participación reafirmó el compromiso de la Javeriana con el diálogo crítico y la formación de investigadores comprometidos con una ciencia ética y socialmente responsable.

“Fue una oportunidad valiosa para representar a la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana en un espacio internacional donde se discuten temas que afectan directamente la labor investigativa”, destacó el profesor Palencia.
