Weaving International Networks for the Training of Our Javerianos
As part of strengthening inter-institutional agreements and funding for the various programs offered by the DAI (International Affairs Office), Director Giovanni Calvano visited the Catholic University of Applied Sciences of North Rhine-Westphalia (KATHO) on July 4.
During his visit, Giovanni met with Helene Hoffmann, Head of the International Office, along with Mattias Khaufmann, Mobility and Erasmus+ Coordinator, to discuss setting joint collaboration goals aimed at creating synergies. One of the topics addressed was to create opportunities for student mobility—both incoming and outgoing—through short courses and summer programs.
Additionally, the objective of creating workshop-type training courses for young people in vulnerable situations in Colombia was proposed. These would be conducted by expert professors from KATHO and the Pontifical University of Javeriana.
On the funding side, these initiatives are competing for support from DAAD and Erasmus+. The signing of the agreement between both universities for incoming and outgoing undergraduate students aims to launch a scholarship for an outstanding Javeriana student to participate in the 2025 edition of the “International Study Program on Social Work and Exclusion.”
Finally, the DAI is following up on the initiatives implemented during the dialogue with Hoffmann and Khaufmann to enhance inter-institutional agreements.
